First English Lutheran Church of Centerville, South Dakota

The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise and rejoice and sing praise! -Psalm 98:4

Joyful Noise is offered by First English Lutheran Church in the winter months after Christmas.  It is an eight-week music class for children from birth through kindergarten and their parents. The class will focus on music as a wonderful gift from God, emphasizing such fundamentals as pitch and rhythm. Children will gain a good foundation for later musical study and enjoyment as they sing, move, and play simple instruments.

Classes for 2012 meet on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:15 in the lower level of First English from January 19-February 23.  There is no cost for the class; an optional $10 materials fee per family covers the cost of musical instruments and a CD.

The class will be taught by Amy Redhage, wife of Pastor Daniel Redhage and a graduate of the University of Minnesota and the Cleveland Institute of Music. She taught private and group violin lessons as well as middle school orchestra in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before moving to Centerville in June 2006. She attended preschool music classes with her own children for several years, and enjoys offering them to the Centerville area as well.
