The Lutheran Women's Missionary League, or LWML, is an organization of women from Lutheran congregations.  Much more than just a social club, the LWML raises funds for mission work done throughout the world and provides many other kinds of support.  The LWML of First English meets every second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm.

From June 21-24, the national convention of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League met at the convention center in nearby Sioux Falls.  Over 5,000 people attended, making it one of the largest conventions to be held in Sioux Falls.  At this convention, the national LWML adopted a record-breaking $1.7 million mission goal for the 2007-2009 biennium.  The funds raised this biennium will be used to support a wide variety of missions throughout the world.  For more information, visit www.lwml.org and click on "Conventions."

Many members of the First English LWML attended the convention in Sioux Falls and reported back the many joys and triumphs of recent LWML accomplishments.  What a joy to see such faith in action!
